We add to our catalogue a series of fireproof shading nets with different colours, sizes, weights and performances.
What is a shading net?
Shading nets or concealment meshes allow the passage of sunlight to be controlled. In Spain, one of the European countries with the highest number of hours of sunshine per year, shading nets can be used in many different ways:
-They are an excellent choice for terraces and balconies to protect from direct sunlight, to perform concealment functions and, at the same time, to reduce high temperatures in summer.
-On construction sites, to protect building materials from wear and tear caused by solar radiation and dust.
-Due to their characteristics, they are an excellent solution for outdoor events as they protect the attendees from the sun and, at the same time, allow air circulation. In addition, they are fireproof and easy to install.
-Because of their flame retardant properties, they are also an ideal solution for use on trailer covers.
-Finally, they have great application in gardening in general and especially in greenhouses, because they prevent light stress on plants and crops, reducing the amount of water they need for their survival. They also serve as protection against hail and to filter rainwater, preventing it from entering in excessive quantities. They also reduce the presence of insects.
What types of shading netting are there?
Shading meshes can be classified according to various characteristics such as weight or composition, but the most important of all of them is the percentage of sunlight they hide.
Thus, a value of 50% corresponds to a mesh that manages to prevent the passage of half of the sunlight that reaches its surface.
At Textil Batavia we have shading meshes to cover a wide range of performance levels, with options ranging from 58% to 95% concealment percentage. Our collection ranges from hat meshes that allow a large amount of light to be retained, but at the same time prevent direct penetration of the sun’s rays, to shading meshes with a great capacity for concealment, allowing temperatures to be reduced and humidity to be increased.
Which shading netting do I need?
In order to choose the most suitable shading mesh, it is necessary to consider the needs and uses required. Thus, to install them in greenhouses, it is first necessary to know the needs of the crops and the meteorological characteristics of the area where it is going to be installed. For example, if we use a mesh that is too opaque for crops with specific light requirements, we can prevent the crop from receiving the necessary amount of light for photosynthesis to take place. In the same way, letting too much light through can also be counterproductive for the crops, and can cause them to scorch.
